More Dead Trees

Powerline noticed that Terry Neal of the Washington Post, in a effort to prove that the Republicans are being hypocritical about Senate filibusters, quoted Orrin Hatch, back when the Reps were still in the minority. However, Mr. Neal (after misspelling Sen Hatch's first name) only used a small scrap of the quote, and what Hatch said was far different than what Neal was trying to point out.

So, to sum up: Terry Neal wrote: "Sen. Orin [sic] Hatch (R-Utah) said the filibuster tool should be used," when in fact, Hatch said: "I personally do not want to filibuster Federal judges. The President won the election. He ought to have the right to appoint the judges he wants to."

Neal could hardly have been more wrong, and there is no excuse: he was simply too lazy to check the Democratic National Committee's talking points before he repeated them.

Isn't the whole reason that MSM is supposed to be far superior to blogs is that they have editors? To, you know, check facts and spelling of powerful Senator's names?
